Welcome to our Website
Ollerton and Boughton started as two separate communities which were a mile or so apart and there is a record of both in the Domesday Book. In those days farming was the principle activity but in more recent times the discovery of coal in the local area saw the population of both villages increase as people from many different parts of the country arrived to work in the mines.
Ollerton & Boughton is a small market town in North Nottinghamshire which provides a wide range of services and facilities for residents, businesses and visitors. Conveniently situated midway between Mansfield and Newark in the heart of Sherwood Forest it is also an ideal base for tourists.
Ollerton & Boughton Town Council – Working to build a more prosperous town we can all be proud of.
